F.T.S is going to undergo some changes, we are going to become a bit more family friendly, and make our site a bit more comfortable looking.
Im not to sure exactly yet what look I will end up with, it is all trial and error for me, I am not a computer expert yet,, lol
But good new everyone, I start my collage courses at the end of August, for Computer web design, Computer Science, and what ever else I can throw in there, Im very excited to get started, and Extremely excited to see what I learn and start applying it to my store,

Today im feeling a bit lost , I am doing so much research, Im trying very hard to learn as much as I can about the cyber world, how to do things online , without having to pay someone thousands of dollars to do it for me and not teach me how, I really hate that.

I have had a few run ins with groups of people that claim to be there for you, claim to have all the answers to every Question, all they want from you in return is 1500.00. Why is it that everyone that claims they can help
always asks you for the same amount, 1500.00.

I am really trying to make My online Store work, I know im not going to get rich, I dont even want to be rich, I just want to do one thing on my own, and i really tees me off when so many say ,, "Laura there is no way you can do this, what are you thinking? you dont know nothing about computers" well they are right about not knowing nothing about computers! everything i do know at this point , I have learned by myself, im proud of that, but I have not even brushed the surface of what I do need to know to make this work,

My store is good, I think anyway,I started in November 2009, reading the how to's, and whats not to do's,
I was crazy at first, it has gotten easier in some areas. the one thing that I have learned, dont trust anyone that claims "Our Company can help you, We will show you step by step on what you need to know to make your Online store successful" Please everyone! do not trust anyone! its alot of money just wasted.

I had this one company charge me 1495.00 ! they promised me that I will make money while i sleep, that they will teach me everything I need to know to be a huge success, all I had to do is, listen to what they said, and let them fix my website, all kinds of promises, well let me just say, after 5 months of seeing nothing happen to my website, and being told every week ,, we will talk next week Laura, be patient! Never one time did anyone one of the 4 people i talked to in that company, show me how to do anything, then I get a call one week saying, Laura you need certificates, and Tax ID's ect... but I can do that for you for another big chunk of money... and like any one of us, that really wants something to happen, I say ok,, sure,, lets do it!

Then I find out why they teach you anything, because they have a monthly fee that you pay for them to stay helping you in your dreams, WHAT!!!! I was just so sad, I really thought that these guys were real, I thought they were my friends for life, but they saw me coming, they really got me good.

So I guess what im trying to say to anyone of you that are thinking of starting an online buisness, Please dont trust any one of the companies out there, they make money off you, sure they may be nice, they may even make it seem like you cant do it without them, they have all the right answers,. but,, dont underestimate yourself, it might take you longer to do it alone, and learn for free, but you can do it!

anyway, today is one of those days for me, that I have hit a brick wall, and what to do next, but I will do some more research, and find some more ways that I can better my store, and better advertise, and keep on
trying to get the public to check my store out, see that I have great product, excelent prices , fantastic Discounts, Free Shipping! HELLO... Go see F.T.S let me know what you think, let me know what changes should I make to make it better,, I really would like your imput.

Ok Everyone, I would like some input on your online shopping experiences.

What do you look for Online?

Is it easier for you to go to town, like Walmart ect. or to log on to your computer at home and do shopping that way?

Does it add up about the same, if you shop online and pay your shipping fees, compared to shopping around for good prices and paying for gas?

Cell Phones? would you rather get a good deal for a cell phone from your cell phone provider, with a 1-2 yr contract, Or buy your phone at a discount price online, and choose your provider with no contracts?

Anything input you can share with me is appreciated, I want to know about your online shopping experiences, your pro's and con's.. your opinion on new online stores, how they can earn your trust.

The differance between now and then.

When i was younger,
I remember the phone that sat on my moms stand, next to the couch, and when it rang, we would all race to the phone to find out who is calling, we picked the receiver and said "hello" .had a chat, and then ended our call, and hung up the receiver.

For those of you who do not know what this is, "ITS A TELEPHONE"

When we made a call, we dialed a number, with our finger, you would place your index finger into the hole, push your finger until it hit the metal object "that would be your stop." you did this with every number then you would hear the ringing in the phone, and if someone was home they would answer "Hello" if they were not home you would call them back in a bit.

Now..
THE SMART BOOK PHONE!

I am really amazed by what all this phone can do..
Its a computer
You can Chat with friends
You can read books
You can send letters
It will take messages
It is a camera
You can watch a movie
Play a game
Listen to the radio
Or your favorite music

Times are changing, and we dont have to work very hard at the smallest things anymore, the things that when i was younger i enjoyed.
Like answering the phone when it rang
Getting to write a message on the tablet next to the phone, It made me feel so important, and responsible
Or going with my family to the Movie Theater
Or watching a movie on the TV with my family eating popcorn, and standing in line for the bathroom during commercials.
8 Tracks ! oh my goodness, how many young people have never had a chance to enjoy the 8 track?
Getting my first Polaroid camera,, I followed everyone around with it, took great pictures of my family,that i still have to this day.
Board games with your BFF's or your family.Loser had to put the game away.
If i needed a recipe i found it in a recipe book, handed down to me from my mom.

well im sure you get the picture, the differance from then and now is amazing, I have not even come close to learning what is out there, every day i learn something new though, and it blows me away..

Family Time is a Dream that I have, of making something out of nothing.

I am a mother of 4 grown children, that have all moved into there own lives, with kids of there own now, they have all given me 7 absolutely wonderful grand-kids.

I am Married, for 23 years now, My husbands has always been a hard worker, He always worked hard enough to give me the opertunity to stay home and care for our children and our home, his work hours were fine while we had kids at home, I stayed plenty busy, But now I dont have kids to tend to during the day, so I found myself lost, and confused on what happens now, you raise your kids, take care of a home for so many years, and then it just stops.

So one day i just woke up, sat at my dining table, and thought about my life, dont take me wrong , I have had and still have a good life. but ..

Just to sum up ME..
I only went to the 8th grade,
became a mother for the first time when i was just 15 yrs old,
Got married when i was 15 yrs old,
became a mother for the second time when i was 19 yrs old,
had my first divorce under my belt when i was 20 yrs,
Remarried @ 21 yrs ( My husband still to this day)
had 2 more children @ 22yrs and 25yrs.
I dont drive a car, (never had a license.)
I dont pack a cell phone,
Didnt have a computer, till i was in my mid 30s ,
(I learned to use a computer just by reading and teaching myself.)

Im not wining or sad in anyway about how things turned out, I love my kids, and I am proud of each and everyone of them for turning out as very wonderful adults.

So moving on to Family Time,

I find the world changing so much around me, Im in aww at the changes from when i was younger.
I dont know that I could even figure out one of the newest Cell phones,(Smart Phones),
I read every day, on how a Hacker can get into a computer! this amazes me.

Its hard to keep up with everything, so i figured I would try to do something that would Keep me in touch with the changes, and trust me I have learned so much,
Some days I feel super smart.

So this is where I sit at my comp, started with Google and searched for days,
I found that many people were making money online , from stores, **IDEA!**

So came...
The Birth of Family Time Shopping,

Im not really sure about the name I have chosen, but it represents me, and who I am, and what is important.

family time is made up of the power of positive thinking, Even on my worst days, I never give up, I just research and learned all i can,
I used money that I sure could not spare, to get a website,( that was a challenge,) wow,, I didnt think i was going to ever figure that out, but every day i learned something new,
every day, my website looked better.
Then comes the Question? am I legal? do I have everything I need to be an online store without getting in to trouble with Taxes? or any other legal stuff?
More Research... I got my Tax ID, Resellers license, I got Incorporated, I feel pretty comfy about being up to par on the legal end.
Then it was time to add product,, find the perfect warehouse to supply me with the perfect products, low price, low shipping, so that i could offer costumers the lowest price possible.
(still everyday im searching to find the lowest prices)
But I have found some good warehouses, with wonderful service, to get me started with adding product to my online store.
